Gabriel-Gore

Governor Jay Nixon has appointed Gabriel E. Gore, of St. Louis, to the Missouri State University Board of Governors. The Board of Governors possesses full power and authority to adopt all needful rules and regulations for the guidance and supervision of the university.

Gabriel was a Political Science major who obtained his law degree from the University of Chicago. He is a partner with the St. Louis law firm of Dowd Bennett LLP and a former assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri. From 1999 to 2000, Gore served as an assistant special counsel for the John C. Danforth Office of Special Counsel. In 2014, Gov. Nixon appointed him to serve on the Ferguson Commission. Gore also has served on the board of directors of the St. Louis Public Library and the KIPP St. Louis Charter School. The Governor has appointed him for a term ending Jan. 1, 2021.

Gabriel was the commencement speaker for the University’s Summer 2012 graduation ceremony. His thoughtful and thought-provoking address can be found here – Commencement Address.
