William (Bill) Noonan, earned his Public Administration degree in 1974. He is Senior Vice President of Industry & Governmental Affairs for Boyd Gaming Corporation. Before joining Boyd Gaming, Bill was Chairman of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce. He was recognized as the Casino Management Association’s Gaming Professional of the Year in the year 2000.
Prior to his move to the private sector, Bill served as the City Manager of the City of Las Vegas from 1991 to 1993. He was recognized as Public Administrator of the Year by the Nevada Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration in 1992. Before moving to Las Vegas, he held City Manager positions in Cape Coral and Perry, Florida.
Looking back on his time in Springfield for a recent Bear Bulletin profile, Noonan said “Being a Bear gave me a great academic foundation. It helped me get into graduate school. I’m not sure I would have been selected otherwise – it was very competitive back then. My time at Missouri State was really critical.”
