In odd numbered years, The Missouri Times, produces a list of the 100 most influential people in Jefferson City. These individuals stand out.
“There are some bills, articles, or campaigns that you just know who is behind them. Their work is distinct, yet its their professionalism and effectiveness that keeps them at the top of the game, whether its passing bills, whipping votes, electing members, re-electing other members, pulling strings on leadership races, drastically altering a bill on behalf of a client, influencing a caucus, or researching, these people know their work like the back of their hands.”
After all of these years, no one should be surprised by the presence of Political Science and Jeff City Internship alumni on the list of Missouri’s Top 100 Playmakers.
After “ascending the ranks as a Regional Staffer, Political Director,” Executive Director Casey Wheat became the first woman to lead the House Republican Campaign Committee.
Joe Lakin at Victory Enterprises “is the first person to call if you are thinking about running for office.”
At the helm of Hahn|O’Daniel, Jay Hahn “integrates just the right amount of old school style with a modern, cutting-edge approach to government affairs.”
The 2019 list also includes Drew Adkins, Legislative Aide for the House Budget Committee, and Alex Cypert, the first female Chief of Staff for a Senate Majority Leader.
As a group, the Governor’s “Team” made the list. Without denigrating the right-fielder, we know the starting pitcher is Kyle Aubuchon and the clean-up hitter is Kayla Hahn.
