Caitlin Davies Joins PLS Department

May 4, 2020 by George Connor

The Political Science department at Missouri State University is pleased to welcome Caitlin Davies.

I am thrilled to be joining the Department of Political Science at Missouri State University as an Assistant Professor beginning in Fall 2020. I recently received my PhD in Political Science from Stony Brook University in New York. My specialization is in American Politics and Political Psychology. My research focuses on the role of group identities such as race, religion, gender, and partisanship in determining the political behavior of voters. For example, my dissertation used a series of experiments to show that appealing to specific status interests of groups is an especially effective campaign strategy for political parties and politicians to gain support. Originally from New Zealand, I have a BA and MSc in Psychology from Victoria University of Wellington. I look forward to joining you all in the Fall.
