2020 Criminology alumna, Arden Boore, shares her strategy for applying to law school in a COVID environment.
I, like many law students, applied to numerous law schools. When I started my application process I was unsure where I wanted to end up, so I applied to about 13 law schools all across the country that had similar programs, course offerings, etc.
I was fortunate enough, prior to COVID, to be able to meet an admission rep from each school at an LSAC forum in NYC. This helped me narrow down my list to my 13 schools. Once I received my decisions, I was left with about five schools to choose from.
Due to Covid, I was unable to visit them, however, I joined a Groupme with the admitted students from each school so I could get a feel for my fellow students. Truly, it came down to cost and where I could potentially see myself practicing after law school.
South Carolina just ended up being the right fit.
