Previously I summarized the 2021-2026 Long-Range Plan that the Board of Governors approved at their June meeting.
This plan contains aspirational stories and big ideas that will guide our decisions over the next five years.
At the June meeting, the Board of Governors also approved the 2021-26 Campus Master Plan.
The master plan includes projects on the Springfield campus that are underway and projects that are planned. The plan also includes City of Springfield projects that will impact the university.
University projects underway include:
- Blunt Center addition (JVIC building 4).
- Grand Street underpass.
- John Goodman Amphitheatre.
- Kampeter Health Sciences Hall renovation.
- Multicultural Resource Center (Plaster Student Union renovation).
- New residence hall.
- Springfield Public Schools Agriculture Magnet School at Darr Agricultural Center.
University planned projects include:
- Blunt Center Braider addition (JVIC building 6).
- Multicultural Resource Center expansion (Plaster Student Union addition).
- Ozarks Health and Life Science Center (Temple Hall addition and renovation).
- Precision agriculture facility at Darr Agricultural Center.
- Small animal education Facility at Darr Agricultural Center.
- University safety master plan.

City of Springfield projects included in the university’s 2021-26 Campus Master Plan include:
- Founders Park renovation.
- Grand Street widening and streetscaping.
- Jordan Creek daylighting.
