Isabel’s House Toy Drive
The Staff Senate would like to give back to the local community during this holiday season, therefore, the Staff Senate Public Affairs committee will be collecting items to donate to Isabel’s House, Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks. The directors at Isabel’s House have requested that our drive consist of unwrapped new toys for children 12 years and younger.
Isabel’s House also takes donations for clothing, hygiene items, office supplies and other goods. We are asking the campus community to join us in this effort by donating an item on the wish list which is located on the Staff Senate’s website.
Items can be dropped off to any of the volunteer coordinators and will be delivered starting at Noon on Tuesday, December 17.
Thank you for your generosity during this busy time of the year. If you have questions, please contact Brian Edmond at BrianEdmond@MissouriState.edu or 836-6898.
December Writing Week
How do you plan to spend your winter break? Many of us hope to have time to enjoy life, prepare classes for spring semester, and also complete a writing project or two, or more…Oftentimes, we find ourselves saying “I just didn’t get as much done as I planned” and start the next semester again wondering how to set and reach writing goals.
This year, consider taking control of your writing life. Schedule time now to participate in the MSU December Writing Week:
Mon. December 16th | 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. | Meyer Alumni Center Hospitality Suite |
Tue. December 17th | 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. | Meyer Alumni Center Hospitality Suite |
Wed. December 18th | 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. | Meyer Library Room 204 |
Thur. December 19th | 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | Meyer Library Room 204 |
*Coffee, tea, snacks, and a light lunch will be provided; Meyer Alumni Center has Free Parking on Level 3 of the Parking Garage (300 South Jefferson)
This three and a half day retreat is an opportunity to participate in a supportive community that facilitates writing productivity. My goal is that each of us leaves the retreat with a feeling of accomplishment and a resolve to spend the remainder of break without lingering writing guilt.
Registration is now open via My Learning Connection. Also, you may sign up for fewer days depending on your schedule. The retreat is sponsored by the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning, the Office of the Provost, and the Associate Provost for Student Development and Public Affairs. This retreat is free of charge to MSU participants.
Please contact me with any questions. I hope you are thriving this semester.
Kind regards,
Stephanie Norander, Ph.D.
