Join Dr. Sharmistha Self, Senate Chair; Brian Edmond, Senior Systems Analyst; and Richard Sisco, Workflow Systems Analyst; for a continental breakfast and learn about a new electronic curricular process beginning Fall 2015.

50-minute Faculty Expert Sessions, 75-minute Faculty Scholar Sessions, and Professional Poster Sessions presented by MSU Faculty and Staff.
11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Luncheon and Keynote Address
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Michele DiPietro
Dr. DiPietro’s book, How Learning Works: Seven Research-based Principles for Smart Teaching, distills the research on learning of the past 50+ years into 7 principles and provides pedagogical strategies for educators. He is the Executive Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Kennesaw State University and served as Director of the POD/KSU International Institute for New Developers which brought together 100 individuals from 10 countries to learn how to foster teaching and learning at the higher education level. His course “The Statistics of Sexual Orientation” has been featured on The Chronicle of Higher Education and in other publications as a highly innovative course.
1:30–3:30 p.m. How Learning Works Workshop with Dr. Michele DiPietro
Dr. DiPietro will provide a more in-depth look at some of the principles in his book and provide faculty with practical strategies that can easily be integrated into their own courses.
