Thank you and congratulations to all the faculty, staff, and administration of Missouri State University! We were notified by the Higher Learning Commission that we have been reaccredited for another 10 years. MSU has been continuously accredited through this process since 1915.
We especially thank the leadership of Dean Tammy Jahnke in the College of Natural and Applied Sciences and the HLC Steering Committee for putting together our reassurance document which provided the evidence made available to the review team in five areas: Mission, Integrity, Teaching and Learning, Evaluation and Improvement, and Planning.
Among the several points of pride mentioned in the report from HLC, reviewers note that “Missouri State University operates with integrity, lives its public affairs mission, and acts in an ethical and responsible manner.”
Provost Frank Einhellig said, “We are very pleased with the outcome of this accreditation process. Missouri State has been a model for continuous improvement. As part of our commitment to improvement, I am appointing a team on campus to periodically take the pulse of what is happening in the way of actions related to HLC recommendations. In this way, we will be ready for our future as we develop our points of pride and respond to recommendations.”
Members of the team include
- Keri Franklin, Chair, Director of Assessment, Associate Professor of English
- Tom Dicke, Professor of History
- Gilbert Brown, Associate Provost for Diversity, Associate Professor and Director of Student Affairs in Higher Education
- Donna Christian, Director, Internal Audit and Compliance
