The Office of Student Conduct is seeking interested applicants (faculty, staff, and students) to serve on our University Hearing Panel.
What is the University Hearing Panel?
The panel convenes to hear a case and make a decision on if a student is responsible or not responsible for violating University policies. The panel will hear statements from the student, the complaining party, and witnesses provided for either side. The panel will have the opportunity to question all parties. After hearing both sides the panel then decides the outcomes for the case and the appropriate consequences if necessary.
Faculty and staff members are eligible to serve on Title IX University Hearing Panels. Those individuals who are interested in serving on the Title IX University Hearing Panel are required to attend additional training throughout their term. Interest will be garnered for these panels at the required training.
What is the time commitment?
Individuals who chose to volunteer for this position will be required to attend one initial training and one refresher training (in the fall). Supplemental trainings are offered throughout the year from the Office of Student Conduct and are optional. Individuals who chose to volunteer will be asked for their schedules prior to sitting on a hearing.
Please make sure to ask your supervisor prior to applying for this volunteer position.
