Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the new semester!
Assessing student learning is an essential component of general education and in the major. We wanted to provide you with some information about Assessment of Student Learning Grants. Eight of your colleagues have already been awarded grants for their projects.
Assessment of Student Learning Grants
Assessment Grants support faculty in their efforts to assess student learning in public affairs and general education. These awards of $500 can go a long way towards implementing assessment plans in a program and we want you to take advantage of them! We are excited to offer these grants each semester.
Eligible projects include, but are not limited to:
- Compare student learning in face-to-face and online courses
- Develop, revise, or refine student learning outcomes in the major
- Support a meeting of dual course, per course, and full-time faculty in a department
- Support focus groups with students or alumni to ask questions related to program learning outcomes
- Focus groups with transfer and homegrown students on student learning in a program
- Exit interviews for seniors and/or students leaving the program
- Incentivize faculty for the extra work involved in assessment
