Starting this semester, students can have a later deadline to submit their theses to the Graduate College for review, but this comes with a higher expectation for thesis formatting (i.e., following the Thesis Guide). To help with this formatting, two new resources are now available:
1) a series of tutorials (video + quiz) available in Blackboard for anyone who self-enrolls in the “class”); and
2) trained consultants in the Writing Center to assist students with their formatting.
Students may choose to use both these resources this semester, and gain an extra week. In the future, it is anticipated that these will be mandatory, and the deadline will be later in the semester. Now that these additional resources are available, thesis submitted to the Graduate College not closely adhering to the Thesis Guide will be rejected, and graduation delayed.
Graduate faculty and students asked for more time, and the Graduate College delivered. For more information/details, see your Department Head, or contact the Graduate College.
