Advising Basics Workshop

Date: Wednesday, August 8
Time: 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Facilitator: Christina Bowles

This workshop focuses on how to prepare for, conduct, and document an advising session. It also covers general education requirements. The Advising Basics Workshop are for those who are new to advising or new to Missouri State University and is recommended but not required before the Master Advisor Workshop.

Master Advisor Workshop

Dates and Times: Wednesday, August 8, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, August 9, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Facilitators: Kathy Davis and Amy Marie Aufdembrink 

The Master Advisor Workshop covers information such as advisor competencies, academic rules and regulations, campus resources, advising techniques and strategies, ethical guidelines, confidentiality of student records, transfer advising, and accessing student information through Self-Service Banner and Degree Works.
