Come to this session to learn about new academic programs and resources at Missouri State University for this academic year, including:
- Missouri Civics Exam
- Bear POWER
- Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant, and more.
Advising resources for Core 42 will be shared. If you have a handout from your department that you would like to distribute, please bring at least 50 copies.

Advising Students with Transfer Credit
Date: Friday, October 4
Time: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Location: Pummill 202
Coordinator: Ross Hawkins with the Transfer Advising Committee
This workshop is for any advisor who works with transfer students or students who have or will be completing credit elsewhere. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from a campus resources panel, including representatives from Admissions, Adult Student Services, Financial Aid and Enrollment Management. Advisors will learn more about CORE 42 and the impact it has on advising transfer students. Web resources will be viewed and discussed to help advisors be efficient in advising appointments and to share information with students about the resources available online.

Infusing “Career Readiness” in Advising

Coordinators: Kimmy Walker from the Academic Advisement Center and Margie Stewart from the Career Center
Career Readiness is developed through many activities and experiences, including advising. This workshop will dive into what advisors can do to help students prepare for their next step after college. Participants will hear from an employer panel, fellow advisors, and campus resources.
