This blogpost represents a component of Missouri State University’s participation in the First-Gen Forward program hosted by the Center for First-Generation Student Success. According to their website, the “Center is the premier source of evidence-based practices, professional development, and knowledge creation for the higher education community to advance the success of first-generation students.” The aim of the cohort is “to share evidence-based practices and resources…to advance the success of first-generation students across the United States.” The MSU team led by Drs. Tracey Glaessgen and Rabekah Stewart, and other members of the MSU community participate in a monthly conference call, complete a goal setting activity and annual report, along with other activities.
