Request summer 2021 graduate teaching assistant funding
Deadline is Friday, February 26
The Graduate College sent the form to be used to request funding from the Graduate College for summer graduate teaching assistants to each Dean and Department Head on January 20, 2021. The form must be used when making a request for this funding and must be submitted by the Department Head or Dean. The forms must be submitted electronically to the Graduate College. Each request must describe:
- The duties (i.e., grading, lab-set up, lecture) that each TA will perform and the hours required for each per week;
- List the courses that each TA will teach or support and indicate last summer’s enrollment or this summer’s projected enrollment (if course was not taught last summer). Indicate also whether the course will be offered face-to-face, online, or hybrid;
- Indicate how many student credit hours will be directly generated by the TA; and
- Provide the name of the supervising faculty member(s) for each TA.
This source of funding is only to support teaching. The 2021 Summer Graduate Teaching Assistant Request Form will be due into the Graduate College no later than February 26, 2021. Awards will be made by the end of March 2021.
Applications for spring 2021 thesis/non-thesis funding
Deadline is Monday, February 22
The intent of thesis and non-thesis funding is to support student research and provide financial assistance toward the costs incurred in their thesis or non-thesis projects. The thesis award averages approximately $500 for each thesis project. The non-thesis award averages approximately $250 for each project. The deadline for spring 2021 to submit an application is February 20, 2021. Since this date falls on a weekend, applications will be accepted on February 22, 2021 until 5:00 p.m. All applications must include information requested on the application form as incomplete applications will not be processed. All applications must be submitted electronically to the Graduate College (graduatecollege@missouristate.edu).
