Submit a faculty research grant proposal
Spring deadline is Wednesday, February 1, 2023
Faculty research grants (FRG) support new research, creative or scholarly activities, or high-quality projects not likely to receive external funding. These grants are one-year (max $7500) of funding. To be eligible, a person must:
- Be a ranked faculty member
- Have submitted the final report for his/her previous FRG to the Graduate College prior to last February 1.
- Not received a summer fellowship for 2023 from the Graduate College, and
- Remain with the University for a year after the project is completed.
For more information, visit the faculty research grants webpage. If you have questions, contact the Graduate College at 836-5335.
Please note: The application through Dynamic Forms has a link provided on the FRG webpage under the heading “Application and Format.” The applicant is responsible to track their application through the system and ensure that their Department Head and Dean have signed and submitted prior to the deadline. The form has limited space in each category/box, so there are areas to upload documents. If more room is needed to communicate your idea/project or other information, take advantage of that feature. Late applications will not be accepted.
International travel grants
The deadlines for international travel applications for Spring and Summer 2023:
- January 15 (will accept applications on January 17)
- April 15 (will accept applications on April 17)
- July 15 (will accept applications on July 17)
International travel grants provide support for the international travel of faculty that will “advance the university mission, in a manner related to the research of the faculty member.” This funding provides up to $2,500 to the recipient. This is a one-to-one match with funding secured by the applicant. Eligible faculty who choose to apply should be mindful of the competitive nature of the process and that not all applications may be funded. A Foreign Travel Authorization form must be completed and approved PRIOR to traveling, and the Dean and Department Head will take into account any COVID conditions or other travel restrictions in the country the faculty member proposes to visit.
Please see additional details on international travel awards web page.
