Missouri State University Library is rolling out a refreshed look for its search interface on May 19, aiming to improve usability while maintaining the same trusted search functionality. To support the transition, a detailed subject guide has been created, which contains FAQs, a sandbox link for users to explore the new interface ahead of the implementation, and a feedback form to share thoughts and experiences with the library implementation team.
The update brings a modern look and introduces features like natural language searching and AI tools to assist with accessing, searching, choosing, and using the library’s resources. The rollout is being led by EBSCO Discovery Services (EDS), who is phasing out the old user interface to meet ever-evolving user needs and expectations. Derek Moser, director of resource management and discovery and implementation committee chair shared, “MSU Library’s implementation is later than most institutions because we wanted a smooth transition that would allow our library users ample time to use the product before the fall semester and not interfere with the academic year”.
