Showcase on Teaching and Learning: August 12
- What: 41st Faculty Showcase on Teaching and Learning, presented by the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning. The event begins with a continental breakfast and concludes with a keynote lunch. In between, you’ll enjoy presentations that are tailored to faculty needs and interests.

- Why: This year’s keynote speaker, Dr. Rebecca Pope-Ruark, is an expert in faculty burnout—specifically, how to recognize and mitigate it. She’ll walk us through tips for staying grounded and engaged in the work you love.

All-Faculty Welcome Lunch: August 13
- What: All-Faculty Welcome Lunch.
- When: 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m., August 13.
- Where: Plaster Student Union Ballroom.
- Why: It’s right there in the title—we want to welcome you to a fresh semester! Please join us for this annual kickoff to the academic year.
Week of Welcome: August 13–21
- What: Week of Welcome.
- When/Where: Various events, August 13–21, at locations around campus. Check out the full schedule.
- Why: It’s time to welcome all Bears—new and returning—to campus. The energy we bring to the beginning of the semester helps fuel momentum all year long. Showing up for Week of Welcome supports our students, and with a huge array of events to choose from, it’s easy to find one that fits your schedule and interests.
- Of note: This year’s New Student Convocation on Sunday, August 16 will feature an address from Provost Clarenda Phillips.
