Graphic Designer, Editorial and Design Services
At some point, most every kid wants a pet, right? For Teri, what started out as fulfilling her daughter’s desire for a dog, has led to a new passion for animal rescue and creating a safer, more informed and compassionate community.
For the past two years, Teri and her daughter have fostered nearly 30 dogs through Rescue One. She loves to work with older and more feral dogs which have the hardest time being placed for adoption. “Many dogs come to us that have been released from puppy mills, a hoarding environment, dog fighting or because their owner transitioned to long-term care or died of illness. It’s difficult to grasp the enormity of the stray and un-homed animal population in our area” says Teri.
Teri also volunteers her professional skills as a graphic designer to help benefit the Springfield Animal Advocacy Foundation (SAAF). SAAF works to improve animal welfare, promote accountability in pet ownership and reduce animal overpopulation. Having recently joined their Board of Directors, she is able to help with fundraising, event organizing, as well as staffing and management of the Spay Neuter Clinic.
Teri is a great example of using your compassion and your talents to make a difference in your community. Congratulations on being September’s Spotlight!
