The 2011 R.E.A.L. Bears Appreciation Reception was held April 1 at the Meyer Alumni Center. The purpose of the annual event was to honor and appreciate those individuals who have made a difference in a R.E.A.L. Bear’s experience at Missouri State. Numerous faculty, staff, mentors and friends were recognized.
The 2011 program also included recognition of the R.E.A.L. Bears scholarship recipients and R.E.A.L. Bear of the Year. Established in 2008, the R.E.A.L. Bears scholarship is awarded annually to one or more outstanding students. Selection is based on the student’s scholarship application as well as service and dedication to the organization. Three scholarships in the amounts of $1000, $750 and $500 were awarded for the 2010-2011 academic year. Recipients were Summer Rascoll, Leslie Hickerson and Cynthia Cadar, respectively.
