Over the Winter Break, Leslie Baynes received the first copies of her new book The Heavenly Book Motif in Judeo-Christian Apocalypses 200 BCE-200 CE,published by Brill. Based on the doctoral dissertation that Leslie completed at Notre Dame before coming to Missouri State, but thoroughly revised, this is the first book-length analysis of the motif of the heavenly book. This motif is found in the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament, but plays an even more prominent role in other early Jewish and Christian apocalyptic literature. Congratulations to Dr. Baynes!
