Dr. Julia Watts Belser, Assistant Professor in MSU’s Department of Religious Studies, flew to Denver, Colorado on Thursday to give a talk to the Denver Friends of the Harvard Women’s Studies in Religion Program. Her talk was titled, “Women and Environmental Risk: Poverty, Luxury, and the Social Politics of Disaster.”
The Denver Friends program is comprised of about a 100 women who are interested in gender studies and religion. Dr. Watts Belser spent last year on a research fellowship at Harvard Divinity School as a Research Associate in the Women’s Studies and Religion Program and Visiting Assistant Professor of Jewish Ethics.
