Film Director, Matteo Norzi, discusses his film, “Icaros: A Vision” to students and community members

by Dr. Vadim Putzu

Last night’s screening of the movie, Icaros: A Vision, in Glass Hall and a promised question/answer session with the film’s director, Mr. Matteo Norzi, drew a large crowd and invoked a lively discussion as students and community members had a host of questions for Matteo after watching the film.

Dr. Marnie Watson (Anthropology), introduced the movie, critically discussing mainstream Western imaginary of the Amazons; yours truly introduced our guest, and raised questions about the definition of “being healthy” and about the construction of boundaries that separate religion from medicine.

Overall the event was well received, and Matteo was very appreciative of our hospitality and of MSU faculty’s and students’ interest in his work.

More information on the movie may be found here: Icaros: A Vision.
