Religious Studies major and president of the Religious Studies Club, Katherine Pollock, announced that she recently became a published author.
Katherine did a book review of The Next Mormons: How Millennials Are Changing the LDS Church for the John Whitmer Historical Association Journal. This is a historical society started by RLDS-Community of Christ members (Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). This book is the results of a new major nationally representative sociological study that had 130 questions and looked at generational differences.
Katherine is the only Millennial to be able to comment on this study in a print journal.
Her next project will be for the Journal of Mormon History, writing a review of Commentary on the Community of Christ Doctrine and Covenants Volume 1: The Joseph Smith Jr. Era (2019). While there are many LDS (Latter Day Saints) commentaries on the Doctrine and Covenants, Community of Christ hasn’t published a full scripture commentary in forty years. The author formatted the book from his experiences with Bible commentaries and most people in the wider tradition will be looking to Katherine’s review to learn more about the book.
Congratulations to Katherine, and we look forward to celebrating her future successes!
