It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of our former colleague, Dr. J. Ramsey Michaels, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Religious Studies at Missouri State University (then Southwest Missouri State University).

Dr. Michaels began teaching here in 1984 and is highly regarded for his research in biblical studies and his many published books about the New Testament.  He earned particular praise for his book, The Gospel of John, part of the Eerdman’s series, “The New International Commentary on the New Testament.”
