The Emergency Alert System test scheduled for September 20th is delayed until October 3rd. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will send a text, among other methods, to test the notification system used to notify the American public of a national emergency. This text will work much like the Amber Alert system already in use by cell carriers.
While this may be an interruption to your day, the time to ensure emergency systems is prior to an emergency. This test will achieve that result.
