The Department of Art and Design presents an exhibit of work by students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland. The exhibit starts Oct. 2 and continues thru Oct. 26. The public is invited to attend a reception on Friday, Oct. 5 from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. This reception is part of First Friday Art Walk.
The Academy of Fine Arts is a state-owned institution that teaches prospective artists and designers both a creative attitude towards the world around them and an awareness of their artistic ability and personality. Artwork on display was created by students enrolled in the visual communication design program or in the product design program, both within the Department of Visual Communication at the Academy. A variety of works depict the process as well as the finished product. In addition, the works present different uses of the design process to market products.
The public is encouraged to attend the reception and view the exhibit through Oct. 26. The Student Exhibition Center (SEC) is located at 838 East Walnut Street on the corner of John Q. Hammons Parkway. It is open from 1:00 – 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, call (417) 836-6999 or visit SEC’s website at sec.missouristate.edu.
