
The Student Exhibition Center will soon feature the work of Cole Closser, a Missouri cartoonist and graduate of the BFA program at Missouri State University, in the exhibit, “Cole Closser: Lost Little Boys and Brave Black Rats.” The exhibition will be free and open to the public Sept. 26-Oct. 18.
Closser’s graphic novel, Little Tommy Lost, was featured in Juxtapoz Magazine in August 2013, named one of the 10 best graphic novels of 2013 by A.V. Club (the Onion), and nominated for the Will Eisner Comic Industry Award in the category of Best Publication Design at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con.
Also a graduate of the MFA program at the Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction, Vermont, Closser currently lives in Springfield and teaches drawing at Missouri State University and Drury University.
