GGP acquires an important research tool

New drone offers increased efficiency and quality to research data.

June 17, 2020 by Tracy Carroll

The Geoswift Mapper, by Leptron, is the newest addition to the Geovisualization Lab at Missouri State University. It will be used for aerial imagery research. Watch the time-lapse video of the assembly and pre-flight checks. The drone has two camera options. The fixed-wing construction allows for longer flight time to map large areas. Its GPS offers centimeter-accuracy for tightly georeferenced, 3D products and imagery. The long flight time, highly-accurate GPS positioning, and multispectral capability make this an ideal tool for mapping and photogrammetry.
