On Tuesday, January 25th, the Student Government Association passed a resolution commending campus individuals and organizations whose contributions helped to make the attainment of the Bears Backing Haiti Project’s goal a reality.
The resolution, authored by Jon Stubblefield and Ally Layton, recognized the following individuals and organizations for their dedication to the revived Bears Backing Haiti fundraising efforts: Shelly Duran and Sodexo Dining Services, Mark Brixey and the Bookstore staff, Sara Clark and Web & New Media, Kyle Moats and the Athletics Division, and Jeremy Schenk and the Office of Student Engagement.
With the considerable aid of the aforementioned individuals and organizations, Bears Backing Haiti: Haiti Still Hurts was able to raise the remaining funds necessary to fulfill the promise the Bears Backing Haiti: 50 in 50 Campaign made a year ago to raise $50,000 for Convoy of Hope and the people of Haiti. On January 24, 2011, a final check worth $50,300 was presented to Convoy of Hope.
