It’s tax season, and Missouri State University accounting students are preparing their calculators. They are helping Community Partnership of the Ozarks and Across the Life Span (ATLS) with its free tax preparation clinics between now and mid-April.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) clinic dates are available online.
Students will help individuals prepare and file basic federal and state tax returns.
Who is eligible?
The VITA clinics are available to anyone who earned less than $54,000 in 2017 as well as people over the age of 60. There will also be assistance for individuals who speak English as a second language.
Other restrictions may apply.
For those who earned less than $66,000, MyFreeTaxes may be an option.
