Rachel Dwiggins, Missouri State University alumna, recently was named a new managing partner for BKD LLP’s Kansas City office. BKD is a national CPA and advisory firm providing standard accounting services as well as risk management, technology, wealth management and forensic and valuation services.
Dwiggins started at BKD in January of 1999 as an audit associate. She became a partner with the firm in 2012.
She spent the first 17 years of her career in Springfield, MO after graduating with her bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1998. She transferred to Kansas City in January 2016.
During her time at MSU, she was involved with Beta Alpha Psi, an honor association for accounting, finance and computer information systems majors. She was also in Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business fraternity.
Starting June 1, 2020, Dwiggins will assume the role of managing partner of the Kansas City office. Her responsibilities will include oversight of the office’s financial management and operations, practice development and people development.
“BKD has a rich history of strong leadership in Kansas City, and I am excited to build upon that legacy as we continue to grow and create rewarding career opportunities for our team members,” said Dwiggins.
Dwiggins currently serves as the industry leader of the office’s nonprofit, higher education and public sector practice.
“We certainly are proud of Rachel and what she has accomplished in her career,” said Dr. Dick Williams, director of School of Accountancy. “I am confident she will excel in her new role and continue to represent the School of Accountancy well. She continues a legacy of Missouri State alumni who have assumed leadership roles at BKD.”
