Do you like data? Of course you do. This is a Soc-Ant blog. Follow this link for the National Study of Learning, Voting and Engagement reports on Missouri State University’s voting rates in 2012, 2016, 2018, and 2020. Notice the increase between 2016 and 2020? Arguments of correlation versus causation aside, we would be remiss not to give credit where credit is due, and Missouri State University is doing just that.
Dr. Suzanne Walker-Pacheco was selected for the 2022 Faculty Excellence in Community Engagement Award for her outstanding work that supports Missouri State University’s public affairs mission! This annual award recognizes up to two Staff and two Faculty for their long-standing community work and includes a $1,500 honorarium. In addition, President Smart and Provost Einhellig will present each awardee with a plaque during the Spring 2022 Faculty Recognition Reception.
Dr. Walker-Pacheco was nominated in recognition for her extensive work in and around Springfield, and particularly for her work with the League of Women Voters and Paws to the Polls. Paws to the Polls even garnered a bit of local media coverage recently.
Congratulations, Suzanne, and a big THANK YOU for all that you do!
