Dr. David Carr and Dr. Michael Hudson of the MSU Sports Medicine and Athletic Training (SMAT) department are in Atlanta, Georgia attending the 5th Biennial Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association (SEATA) Athletic Training Educators’ Conference this week. The conference is held February 6-8 downtown Atlanta, Georgia and includes many educational sessions, research poster presentations and a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) workshop. There is also a SEATA Athletic Training Student Symposium which is attended by athletic training students in undergraduate athletic training programs.
Dr. Carr and Dr. Hudson are attending this conference in order to recruit graduate students for the post professional athletic training program here at Missouri State. With over 1000 athletic training students attending the student meeting and workshops, there are many opportunities for interaction.
Reflecting over his time at the event thus far, Dr. Hudson states “this is my first time attending these SEATA conferences and I am very impressed with the turnout and the students’ interest in the events.”
