The 3rd annual Educator’s and Athletic Training Student Conference will be held on Saturday, January 31st at Central Methodist University in Fayette, MO from 9:00 am – 3:15 pm. This conference is open to ALL athletic training students (first year students, this INCLUDES YOU!!). Any Missouri State University athletic training students that are interested in attending, the faculty will be driving MSU vans to the conference and are happy to transport you. Registration for students is $8 and lunch will be provided at this one day conference.

Sports Medicine and Athletic Training (SMAT) department faculty Dr. Allan Liggett and Kristin Tivener will be speaking at this conference in a presentation on Networking and Conflict Resolution. There will be additional speakers on the topics of crisis response planning and the EAP, equipment removal and spineboarding protocols, apps for athletic training, and finding a job after graduation. The conference will wrap up with a quiz bowl which includes teams from each athletic training program in Missouri. Teams will compete against each other by answering athletic training-related questions. The winner will go on to compete in the District competition in March. The MSU team includes AT students Melanie Burkholder (Captain), Adam Sparks, Lindsey Knapp, and Brittany Kiefer (alternate).

The conference is a great chance for students to meet other faculty and AT students from around the State of Missouri, learn some interesting things, and spend the day with faculty and their peers outside of the classroom.
