The National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) annual Clinical Symposia and AT Expo was held in Saint Louis, Missouri Tuesday, June 23 – Friday, June 26, 2015. This was the 66th annual convention for the NATA which is attended by certified athletic trainers, athletic training students, and allied medical professionals.
This was a busy year for Missouri State University at the NATA Convention. Many faculty from the Sports Medicine and Athletic Training department (SMAT), AT students, and Preceptors all attended the conference. SMAT faculty and AT program alumni got together on Thursday evening for a very well-attended alumni party.
Additionally, two SMAT faculty members received awards at the conference.
Congratulations to Gary Ward who was recognized for his outstanding service to the profession. Gary received the Athletic Trainer Service award which recognizes NATA members for their contributions to the athletic training profession as a volunteer at the local and state levels.
Congratulation to Dr. David Carr who was recognized with the NAT Most Distinguished Athletic Trainers Award. The Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer award recognizes NATA members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to leadership, volunteer service, advocacy and distinguished professional activities as an athletic trainer.
