The Department of Sports Medicine and Athletic Training is proud to announce that Dr. Hudson has recently published an article in a special issue of the International Journal of Athletic Therapy and Training which focuses on the ethics of sports medicine.
Dr. Hudson explains, “Along with helping our athletic training students become health care professionals, I also serve the profession as the Chair of the Ethics and Professional Standards Committee for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education and an Associate Editor for the Athletic Training Education Journal. In each of these roles, I continually learn how much of what we do as health care professionals is dependent on our personal and professional values. Society rightfully expects we practice ethically; however, we are also individuals with different perspectives on what is right and wrong. I was invited to write this article for this special issue of the International Journal of Athletic Therapy and Training because of my passion for athletic training being respected as a health care profession and because of my growing expertise in decision making. My hope is this article will help athletic trainers in any setting develop policies that will guide ethical decision making for their workplace.”
