2018 MAATA Annual Meeting and Symposium

This past weekend, students and faculty from the Sports Medicine and Athletic Training department at Missouri State University traveled to the 2018 Mid-America Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA) Annual Meeting and Symposium.

Here are some of the highlights from the weekend!!!

Dr. David Carr made three presentations with Dr. Bliss related to their multi-centered collaborative research on concussion recovery.

SMAT Student William “Boaz” Burney became BFFs with Dr. Bliss as she shared information about treatment for vertigo.

Dr. Michael Hudson was awarded the MAATA Educator of the Year award; a prestigious award recognizing his outstanding efforts as an athletic training educator. Congratulations Dr. Hudson!

Sam Wilkins (alumni of the MSU athletic training program) was awarded the MAATA Young Professionals’ Committee Distinction Award. Well deserved Sam!
