Dr. Kristin Paloncy of the Sports Medicine and Athletic Training Department had a manuscript accepted for publication in the Athletic Training Education Journal this week. The manuscript titled “A High-Fidelity Simulation is Effective in Improving Athletic Training Students’ Self-Efficacy with Emergency Cardiovascular Care Skills” was developed from research done at the Missouri State University simulation center with MSU athletic training students. This was a collaborative research study assisted by Dr. Allan Liggett of the SMAT department who has expertise in self-efficacy theory and Dr. Leah Georges of Creighton University. The study was funded through an external grant from MAATA.
This manuscript provides pivotal support for the integration of high-fidelity simulation into the teaching and training of athletic training students.
