“Identifying and supporting students who may be struggling with a mental health challenge, and referring them on to professional help, if needed, is a fundamental part of a comprehensive approach to supporting mental health and preventing suicide on campus. You can make a positive impact in these efforts by participating in our “You Can Help A Student” training. The JED Campus program has created this training resource to build these skills in staff and faculty on college/university campuses.
Join us for You Can Help A Student (YCHAS), a 2-hour workshop to help staff and faculty learn how to recognize and respond to signs of distress in students and then provide any necessary support and referrals. This session will be presented by Rhonda Lesley, Director of Missouri State University’s Counseling Center and sponsored by the Staff Senate Public Affairs Committee.
Colleges and universities enrolled in JED Campus receive “You Can Help” through their participation in the JED Campus program. Missouri State University is proud to be a JED Campus as of January, 2020.”
