Two Missouri State University graduate students and Division of Student Affairs (DOSA) graduate assistants were recently recognized for their local and national success. Liv Parks, Graduate Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life, and a co-presenter were recently featured in an article within the Springfield News-Leader for their work with minorities and inclusion on a national level. Liv recently presented research at the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) National Convention in Tampa, Florida. The research looked at the importance of celebrating students on campus who identify off the gender binary. The presentation was a chance to educate individuals on the importance of minorities. Emma Rapp, Graduate Assistant to the Dean of Students, was recently named the recipient of the MSU Women Students of Distinction award in conjunction with Women’s History Month. 43 nominations were submitted for the award with three honorees being chosen at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Andrea Weber, Director for Student Conduct, nominated Emma for the award. The other nominees include, Graduate Student honorees: Emma Rapp, Krysta Baker, Ashley Riley and Undergraduate Student honorees: Julie Greene, Wendy Brazeal, Brianna Duda. All honorees will be recognized at a reception on March 27th.
