Since its inception in 2007, the Board of Governors have recognized forty-seven Citizen Scholars who have made noteworthy accomplishments while enrolled at Missouri State University. This award is presented to students who have contributed to the University, advanced the University’s public affairs mission and have been significantly engaged in extra-curricular accomplishments and/or have contributed in a meaningful way through service activities in the community. The Board of Governor’s introduced the newest members of this select group at their December 11th meeting.
“When we read the nominations for this year’s Citizen Scholars, I was so impressed by the quality of students,” said Carrie Tergin, Board of Governors member who served on the selection committee. She went on to state, “These students are shining examples of what a Citizen Scholar should be, making an impact through their skills, creativity and talent with respect and character. With such talent and drive, we were so amazed by what these students have accomplished and it is clear that these leaders will continue to do good work as Citizen Scholars.”
