Missouri State continues to expand upon its first-generation student support services and joined colleges and universities around the country in celebrating first-generation students for the third annual First-Generation Celebration Day on November 8. The celebration, attended by students, faculty, and staff who self-identify as first generation, included s’mores and hot chocolate, giveaways, appearances by the men’s basketball coach, Dana Ford, and university mascot, Boomer.
In addition, the student organization, MSU: I’m First, hosted an information table so students could learn more about university support and opportunities.
