1) MSU RESPOND Training – March 23, 2020 – The MSU Counseling Center and Dean of Students Office is pleased to announce a free opportunity for staff and faculty to learn how to better recognize, support and refer someone who needs assistance with mental health concerns. 2) Open Forum for Director of Admissions – Join Enrollment Management and Services for the third Open Forum for the position of Director of Admissions. The forum, featuring candidate Teresa Haney, will take place Tuesday, March 3, 1-2pm, Meyer Library 101.
3) Bears Give Back – Missouri State’s Giving Day – Join your Bear family in celebrating Missouri State’s 115th birthday. Make your birthday gift to the area you cherish most on campus and attend our birthday party to celebrate on 3/24. The Ursa Experience Crowdfunding is underway so consider a gift to the Ursa Experience. Anyone who gives $50 or more in the month of March will receive a limited edition pair of Missouri State birthday socks while supplies last. Specially designed by a student for our 115th birthday, wearing these socks is a great way to make your Missouri STATEment.
4) Campus Recreation Introduces Unified League – Campus Recreation has joined forces with Special Olympics to begin a new division of recreational sports. NIRSA and Special Olympics partnered with a shared dedication to promoting social inclusion through sports training and competition experiences. Unified sports simply joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. 5) Women Herstory Month – Nomination for Womxn of Distinction Awards -The Women’s HERstory Month Planning Committee is excited to announce the call for nominations for the annual Womxn of Distinction Awards. A yearly part of Women’s HERstory Month, the Womxn of Distinction Awards honor women and femme identified individuals who have excelled academically, contributed to the success of the Missouri State and Springfield communities, and demonstrated commitment to positively influencing the lives of others.Nominations for the awards in the categories of undergraduate, graduate student, staff, and faculty are now being accepted through Monday, March 9th, at 5pm.
