Dear Student Affairs Team:
Welcome back Team! I am so happy that we are kicking off another fall semester here at MSU! It is great to see the students back on campus and the excitement that their energy brings. March seems so long ago when the campus was last alive. While the past 4 ½ months have been challenging on many levels, we have proven that we are flexible, adaptable and focused on providing quality programs and services to help our students be successful. Thank you to everyone for your hard work and dedication to Missouri State University and to our students!!!
In addition to welcoming everyone to the start of the semester, I’m writing today to encourage all of you to join the Student Affairs All Staff Meeting on Wednesday, August 26th starting at 8:00 am via zoom (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83712212173). During the meeting, we will hold our annual DOSA awards and provide some well-deserved recognition to many of our colleagues. We will also hear from our committee chairs, learn about the fall enrollment and talk more about COVID19. We will also have some time to do question and answers. So, please plan to join the zoom webinar on August 26th.
This fall will certainly be like no other fall semester… we have new policies on masks, events, testing, cleaning protocols… you name it! I hope you all have reviewed the “Return to Campus Guide” that is posted on the MSU website https://www.missouristate.edu/Coronavirus. Please pay special attention to the Frequently Asked Questions section of the website. And, if you seek clarification on a policy, need to report an exposure or have any questions related to the virus, contact the COVID19 Response Team (COVID19@MissouriState.edu or 417-837-3737).
As members of the Student Affairs Team, please remember our vision of being Champions for Student Success! Our students need us to continue to be dedicated to their development by providing resources and opportunities to support their learning. These are challenging times… but if we stay focused on our mission, vision and values, we will be able to support our students as they strive to achieve their goals.
I want to thank each of you for your patience and adaptability during this time of great uncertainty. Thank you and Go BEARS!
Dr. Dee Siscoe
