Five Things – This Week in Student Affairs – January 17th

Welcome back! We hope you had a restful and relaxing break. We are excited for this semester and look forward to working with you! Take a moment to see what’s going on in the Division of Student Affairs this week!

1. DEI Spotlight- MRC Career Week – The MRC and Career Center will be hosting a Career Week, January 30th – February 3rd) to provide an opportunity for students to learn about skills to enhance their career development.

Tuesday, January 31 – Resume Drop-In Hours – Career Center staff critique resumes – 12 pm – 2 pm at table – outside of MRC, PSU 1st Floor
Clothes Closet/Dress for Success Assistance – 12 pm – 2 pm; MRC

Wednesday, February 1 – LinkedIn Workshop – 2 pm – 2:45 pm; MRC
Central Bank Networking Event – 3 pm – 4 pm; MRC

Thursday, February 2 – Grad School Workshop (30 minutes) – 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm; MRC
Handshake Workshop (30 minutes) – 1:00 pm – 1:30 pm; MRC

2. Let Employee Wellness be a part of your New Year’s Resolutions – Employee Wellness has a large selection of programs you can take part in this semester. These include: Yoga, Tai, Weight Watchers, Safety Trainings, Nutrition and Cooking Talks. 3. Spring 2023 Student Affairs All Staff Meeting – Join us for the Spring all staff meeting on Thursday, February 9th, 8am in the PSU Ballroom. This is a great event to come enjoy some refreshments, see your friends and learn about all that’s happening in our area of Missouri State.

4. Annual Cookie Decorating Day Event – Join us on February 14th for our annual Cookie Decorating Day! We’ll be in Ballroom East from 3-4pm enjoying some delicious cookies from Chartwells and catching up with friends. Stay tuned for more information!

5. Welcome to the Division of Student Affairs – Join us in welcoming these new staff members to the Division of Student Affairs.

6. Save-the-Date for the Upcoming Town Hall – Save-the-date for a town hall meeting where we will discuss enrollment management, the college merger and academic realignment. The town hall will take place on Friday, January 27th, 3:30-5pm, Plaster Student Union Theatre. The meeting will be live streamed on Zoom. The Zoom link will be posted soon.
