1. Open Forums for Coordinator, New Student Orientation – The Office of Orientation and Transition Programs invites the Division of Student Affairs’ Community members to meet the Coordinator, New Student Orientation candidates at an Open Forum. Each candidate will briefly speak about their experience and interest in the position. They will then answer questions from the audience. We hope that you will consider attending as many sessions as your schedule allows. Thank you for your support of the SOAR program!

2. Local Election Voter Guide – Paws to the Polls campus nonpartisan voter education initiative is helping to ensure that all members of the campus community have convenient access to information about the upcoming local election. To that end, we have produced a local election voter guide for the April 4th municipal election, which contains statements from almost all candidates for the mayoral, city council, and school board races. 3.Back by popular demand! Lunch and Learn – Check your calendar and see if you are available for the Lunch and Learn featuring Jeff Mitchell on April 11th, 12pm-1pm. RSVP no later than 4:00 p.m. April 5th to Peggy Jones at peggyjones@missouristate.edu. Bring your lunch and the Division will provide drinks and cookies.

4. DEI Spotlight: Election Day is Tuesday, April 4th! If you are registered to vote in Greene County, the Welcome Center will be a voting location from 8am-7pm that day. Check out this resource from Paws to the Polls to learn what’s on the ballot and more about the candidates: https://www.missouristate.edu/ADP/_Files/Final2023BallotVoterGuide.pdf Local elections are incredibly important and make the most direct impact on the lives of voters. This election will include voting for Mayor, Springfield City Council, and Springfield Public Schools Board of Education, as well as a proposition and call for amendments.
