Five Things – This Week in Student Affairs – April 11th

April 11, 2023 by Priscilla Childress

Take a moment to see what’s going on this week in the Division of Student Affairs.

1. President’s Diversity Council – The President’s Diversity Council meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 26th at 3:30-5pm in the Union Club in the Plaster Student Union. Encourage your student to attend this important meeting. The topic will be announced in the next few days.

2. Make Plans to Attend the Collaborative Diversity Conference – The Collaborative Diversity Conferences (CDC) have always aimed to connect citizens and foster community by establishing a stronger link between community partners throughout the Ozarks region and beyond. As such, it is with esteemed pleasure that the Division for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Missouri State University announce this year’s theme for 2023, annual “Connecting Citizens & Fostering Community.” The date of the 2023 Conference is April 27-28th. Find information about registration here.

3. Spring Football Game and Fan Fest – Missouri State’s annual Maroon and White spring football game will take on a different flavor this year with the addition of a family-friendly afternoon of games, player interaction and tailgating ahead of the team’s annual intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, April 15. Festivities start at 1pm.  Find out more here.

4. Campus-Wide Memorial Service – The annual campus-wide memorial service will take place on Thursday, April 27th at 4pm in the Union Club on the 4th floor of the Plaster Student Union. Join us as we honor those lost in the pass academic year.

5. Greek Week 2023 – Greek Week started Monday, April 10th and continues through 15th.  This year, the theme will be “Greekish Games.” This theme allows every Fraternity and Sorority chapter to showcase their creativity and unify the strong FSL community not only on campus but in the community.  Funds raised will be split among Music Therapy of the Ozarks and Ozarks Food Harvest.  Some of the events include Greek Jam, Greek God and Goddess, Weeks of Service, Competitive Yard Games and more. Follow Greek Week on Instagram and Twitter to see the schedule of what’s happening each day.

6. Carved and Crafted Catering Open House – Make plans to attend the Missouri State Catering Carved and Crafted Open House on April 14th in the Plaster Student Union. Come and taste the new items in the updated catering guide for the Spring collection and meet the new Executive Chef, Melinda Burrows. RSVP to Teri Trickey today, April 11th at teritrickey@missouristate.edu or at 417-836-4630. Find out more here.
