Take a moment to see what’s happening this week in the Division of Student Affairs.
1. STAR Awards – In 1996 Missouri State University hosted the first ever Student Talent and Recognition (STAR) Awards Ceremony. Each year the STAR Awards ceremony honors outstanding student leaders and student organizations which have been nominated by various organizations, students, faculty, and staff. Since its beginning, STAR Awards has recognized over 350 students, organizations, and advisors at Missouri State. This year’s STAR Awards take place tonight at 5pm in the PSU Ballroom. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our students and organizations.
2. President’s Diversity Council – The President’s Diversity Council meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 26th at 3:30-5pm in the Union Club in the Plaster Student Union. Encourage your student to attend this important meeting. The topic is Diversity Legislation and MSU.
3. Make Plans to Attend the Collaborative Diversity Conference – The Collaborative Diversity Conferences (CDC) have always aimed to connect citizens and foster community by establishing a stronger link between community partners throughout the Ozarks region and beyond. As such, it is with esteemed pleasure that the Division for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Missouri State University announce this year’s theme for 2023, annual “Connecting Citizens & Fostering Community.” The date of the 2023 Conference is April 27-28th. 4. Administrative Professionals Day – Administrative Professionals’ Day, April 26th, celebrates those that keep our departments running smoothly each and every day. Take a moment to recognize those that keep us organized and running efficiently. Thank You to every administrative professional in our division! We would be lost without you!
5. President’s Concert – The MSU Music Department invites you to join us for a performance featuring Ralph Vaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony, the University Symphony Orchestra and Grand Chorus on April 30th, 3:30-5pm. Open to public, alumni, current students, faculty, future students, staff. Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. 6. Campus-Wide Memorial Service – The annual campus-wide memorial service will take place on Thursday, April 27th at 4pm in the Union Club on the 4th floor of the Plaster Student Union. Join us as we honor those lost in the past academic year.
